1. Load your document.
2. Open the ControlCenter.
   • Brother Utilities supported models
     1. Open Brother Utilities.
        • Windows 7 / 10 / 11
          Click or (Start) > (All Programs or All apps >) Brother >Brother Utilities.
        • Windows 8
          On the Start screen, click .
          If is not on the Start screen, right-click somewhere on an empty spot, and then click, All Apps from the bar.
          Click Brother Utilities.
     2. Select Scan.
     3. Click ControlCenter4.
   • Brother Utilities unsupported models
     Click (Start) >All Programs >Brother >[model name] >ControlCenter4.
3. Click the Scan tab.

   To save the document as a password-protected PDF, select Secure PDF (*.pdf) from the File Type drop-down list, click , and then type the password.

   Advanced Mode

   1. Load your document.
   2. Open the ControlCenter.

           • Windows 8
             On the Start screen, click .

             Click Brother Utilities.
        2. Select Scan.
        3. Click ControlCenter4.
      • Brother Utilities unsupported models
        Click (Start) >All Programs >Brother >[model name] >ControlCenter4.
   3. Click the Scan tab.

      To preview and configure the scanned image, select the PreScan check box.
